Substitute Virginity?

My girlfriend and I have gotten quite serious about a long term relationship (or, maybe I've just finally gotten mature enough for one). We haven't had sex together yet, but plan to. She got her cherry popped by some guy in high school, and now feels really bad that she can't give me her virginity.

Here's the weird part: My girlfriend has a younger friend that that is a vigin and badly wants to lose it (and apparently she also thinks I'm cute). She doesn't have/want a boyfriend, she just wants to experience sex but has be too shy to initiate it on her own. So, my girlfriend has arranged that on the first night we have sex, her friend will also be there to give me her virginity as a substitute for my girl friends.
In my younger days, I did have sex with virgins a couple times. The first, I was too eager and inexeperienced, and think probably caused her unecessary pain (sorry, Jennifer) but with the second girl I had matured a lot and she really seemed to enjoy her first time.
So, I'm not afraid of hurting the my girlfriend's virgin friend, and she is eager to participate. It's just...well, kind of different.
Can anyone out there relate to my girlfriend's feeling on this? Should I try to be more understanding?

Unbelievable

This is the just unbelievable, Your girlfriend needs some counseling!!!!!!! Big time!!!!! Sex is a physical, spiritual, and emotional experience that bonds two people for life.....She first needs to understand what sex is... even though she thinks she already knows.... I will assure you that in the long run this WILL NOT make her feel better that you had sex with her friend....It will actually plant a seed of resentment....

You are so right! What your girlfriend wants to do is very different. I'm surprised your girlfriend would even want you to have sex with her friend since you can't actually take her virginity. So yes she's not a virgin, but whats done is done and no matter what she tries to substitute for her virginity it will never be her first time again. You should definately talk with her about it, and if you do go through with it and have sex with her friend also, how would she feel afterwards? and would you feel like your relationship with her is that serious after having sex with her friend virgin?
